The Different Types of Yoga
Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa yoga is a more general form of yoga that involves a combination of rhythmic breathing with some body movements.
This form usually needs you to link your breathing to your movements, which is why, it is also often known as power yoga. When you sign up for this form of yoga, you can expect to get sweaty and burn some calories too!
Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga yoga is similar to Vinyasa yoga in many ways, but it is a more modern, systematic approach to the practise.
With this form, you will be expected to maintain your breathing pace while moving from pose to pose, and there are several different difficulty levels you can opt for. This form of yoga is much more physically demanding and intense.
Bikram Yoga
Bikram yoga is the most consistent yoga practise. No matter where in the world you’ll go, you’ll always find this to be the same.
In this practice, you’ll need to practice 26 different copyrighted yoga poses and 2 different forms of breathing, in a particular order for 90 minutes, in a room heated up to around 40 degree celcius.
This form of hot yoga can stimulate the release of toxins from your body, and also help keep your weight in check.
